First o-race of the season
This weekend I ran the first orienteering race of the season. Strange feeling. There was a lot of races throughout March, but my motivation is nowadays focused on some other things, so I just skipped them all. On Saturday it was the first race of Croatian Cup. On one hand I was curious how good (or bad) can I run knowing I have only 40 easy trainings in the past 6 months and on the other I wanted to see if I can still enjoy orienteering like I used to. The forest was nice, mostly clean and easy to run, course was easy and controls visible, map could've probably been better, but considering how old it is, it was ok. I made some small mistakes coming close to green areas which were a bit changed over the years. Running felt a bit hard, my HR was 182/188, but I liked the feeling of being in the forest once again. Maybe it was just some sort of a nostalgic feeling for the times that will never be again. Funny thing happened after the race when I was told that one guy was amazed when I pointed to where one control is, because he never expected such gesture from me or someone from ME category. One other said I looked lazy and too much relaxed in the forest. What can I say? A dream has come to its end...
Waiting for a change...
